Nearly 200 students from District 99, District 201, and Morton College participated in a summer work program with the Town of Cicero, assisting various municipal departments. The program offered these students an opportunity to gain practical work experience while contributing to the community.

To recognize their efforts, President Larry Dominick hosted an appreciation luncheon for the student workers. “We’re proud to be able to give our local students hands-on experience in municipal work,” President Dominick said. “These jobs not only help them earn a paycheck, but they also build the skills they need for the future.”

Town officials present at the event included Town Clerk Maria Punzo Arias, Assessor Emo Cundari, Trustee Victor Garcia, Superintendent of Police Thomas Boyle, Superintendent of Streets and Alleys Derek Dominick, Water Commissioner Lido Manetti, Business License Director and Town Chaplain Ismael Vargas, and Deputy Superintendent Schullo. They joined in recognizing the contributions made by the students over the summer.

The luncheon was organized by the Special Events Department of Cicero. Students shared a meal and received encouragement from local leaders who highlighted education, hard work, and service as important values.

As the event concluded, President Dominick addressed the group: “We invest in our youth because they are the future of Cicero,” he said. He reaffirmed Cicero’s commitment to supporting programs that offer opportunities for young residents.
