The town of Cicero recently celebrated the grand opening of Cali Ve, a new restaurant located at 3036 S. Laramie Avenue. Owned by local residents Gilberto and Jennifer Quintero, Cali Ve aims to offer more than just a dining experience by embodying family, culture, and community.

The event saw participation from several community leaders. Business License Director Ismael Vargas expressed enthusiasm for the new venture, saying, “We are so blessed to celebrate another business opening in our community. This couple lives in Cicero and decided to invest in their own neighborhood. That’s something truly special—and we’re here to support them every step of the way.”

Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias extended best wishes on behalf of Town President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees: “Once again, we’re proud to stand behind another small business. We wish Gilberto and Jenny all the best as they begin this new chapter.”

Echoing these sentiments was Town Assessor Emo Cundari who remarked on the dual benefits of having residents who are also business owners: “It’s a win-win for the whole town. We help each other out and strengthen the community.”

Trustees Victor Garcia, Bob Porod, and John Cava also congratulated the owners while encouraging local support for Cali Ve. Trustee Cava added a personal note stating, “I live just a few blocks away, so you’ll probably see me here often!”

The ceremony concluded with Ismael Vargas leading attendees in a countdown before cutting the ribbon that officially opened Cali Ve's doors.

Gilberto and Jennifer Quintero thanked everyone present for their support. “Thank you for joining us. Welcome to Cali Ve,” said Gilberto. Jennifer added her excitement about sharing their menu offerings: “We’re excited to share our food with everyone—everything from seafood to meats. It’s all delicious, and we hope you enjoy it!”

Cali Ve represents more than just culinary offerings; it stands as a testament to local pride and investment in one's own community.

Residents are invited to explore Cali Ve's menu of authentic flavors available at caliverestaurantin.com.
