City of Northlake City Council met May 5
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
ROLL CALL:

Alderman Patti made a motion to move the swearing in of newly elected city council members to the beginning of the agenda; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
MOTION TO MOVE THE SWEARING IN OF NEWLY ELECTED CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS TO THE BEGINNING OF THE AGENDA CARRIED
Cook County Commissioner for the 16th District, Frank J. Aguilar, swore in four Aldermen, the City Clerk, and the Mayor. He thanked the council for the opportunity. Mayor Sherwin gave a short speech regarding looking to the future with major development taking place, major infrastructure improvements being undertaken, and a strong financial footing.
Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 21, 2025. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 21, 2025; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections.
Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
MEETING HELD ON APRIL 21, 2025 CARRIED
Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the Public Hearing held on April 21, 2025. Alderman Grochowski made a motion to accept the minutes of the Public Hearing held on April 21, 2025; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
HELD ON APRIL 21, 2025 CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to reappoint Celina Medious to the Police Commission; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, SOSA, JOHNSON, URBINA, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI
NAYS: NONE
ABSENT: ALDERMAN CONTRERAS
MOTION TO REAPPOINT CELINA MEDIOUS TO THE POLICE COMMISSION CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED
Mayor Sherwin stated he has been in contact with the Cook County Highway Department regarding the many complaints we have received about the North Avenue construction traffic. He was told it will remain one lane going west until the end of July and that all lanes in both directions should be open sometime in October. Alderman Patti thanked the city council for approving the FulRoy Park renovation.
Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the FulRoy Park renovation using option #2 from the plans presented; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE FULROY PARK RENOVATION USING OPTION #2 CARRIED
There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
