Proviso Township Board met March 19

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1) CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Town Trustees of the Town of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

2) ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. on a roll call the following responded: Trustees Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan.

Also present were Clerk Williams, Assessor Zawaski, and Attorney Michael R. Durkin, Lorenzo Webber was present.

3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4) APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Chase moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on March 3, 2025.

Ayes: Trustees Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan.

Nays: None

Absent: None

5) APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for March 1, 2025 – March 15, 2025

6) ATTORNEY’ REPORT

None

7) CLOSED SESSION

8) OLD BUSINESS

A. Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. Assessors Department report and Handyman report for March given to Trustees for review. 103 General Assembly Report provided. Township Officials Report read. Senior event was well attended and thank you cards were received.

B. Clerk’s Report – None

C. Trustee’s Report – None

D. Elected Officials Report – Assessor Zawaski advised the Board that senior freeze is coming up soon.

E. Staff Report – Lorenzo Webber, Director of Youth Services, announced Proviso Got Talent will be in April. Need to hire a new College and Career Specialist for Youth Services.

9) NEW BUSINESS

A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action.

None

B. Trustee Chase moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees Approve the Annual Town Meeting Agenda.

C. Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Chase, that the Board approve a Resolution Authorizing the Township Supervisor to Hire a Part-Time Employee for the Proviso Township Handyman Department and a Part-Time Employee for the Proviso Township Transportation Department.

D. Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Chase, that the Board approve a Resolution Authorizing the Township Supervisor to Hire a Full-Time Employee for the Youth Services Department.
