Families in Cicero came together on March 13 at the Cicero Community Center for the annual Easter celebration. Colorful and lively, the event saw families engaging in various activities despite gray skies outside.

"The kids get so excited just going into that room and seeing him. They flock to that room like it’s the only place on earth!" said Special Events Director Patty Salerno, speaking about the excitement generated by the Easter Bunny's presence. Alongside characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Elmo, and Cookie Monster, the event was filled with joy and laughter.

The Community Center hosted arts and crafts stations, face painting, games, and bounce houses. The smell of fresh popcorn added to the festive atmosphere. Salerno noted, “The weather can be tricky this time of year. But honestly, having it indoors just makes it all the more cozy and beautiful. You should see the line—it’s wrapped around the building!”

Thousands attended, marking one of the community's largest events. A local resident expressed, “Honestly, it’s for my kids to enjoy. So they could remember what a good time they had—not just stuck at home.” Another parent noted the quick-moving line despite forgetting an Easter basket, saying, “We thought we were late, but we were inside and in the fun before we knew it!”

Young attendee Auriyana Montenegro expressed happiness being at the event and spending time with her family. “Larry Dominick always puts together something fun. It feels like every week there’s something new!” she said.

A parent laughed, recounting a moment when a child realized the Easter Bunny was real: “I thought the bunny wasn’t real until he moved!” Her daughter was amazed.

The event concluded, leaving lasting memories and a sense of community. Cicero’s celebration highlighted the joy that can blossom when families gather, assisted by a little bunny magic.
