Cicero has welcomed the opening of La Xhula, a new blend of a taco and ice cream establishment situated at 5005 West 14th Street. At its inaugural event, town officials and residents came together to celebrate this unique venue which offers a fusion of culinary delights under one roof.

Ismael Vargas, business license director, expressed his enthusiasm about the new venture, saying, “We are so happy that, as a community, we can come together and support a business like this. This is what makes Cicero thrive.” Emilio Cundari, town assessor, emphasized the importance of local support by stating, “For the residents here, just please realize how important it is to support our businesses in town. It helps us with our local economy and our tax base. Shopping local keeps our community strong.”

The owners of La Xhula, who also own Manny’s Market, shared the journey they undertook to realize their dream. They stated, “It was a mixture of feelings—happiness, exhaustion—but seeing all the smiling faces today makes all the hard work worth it.” The concept of a tacos and ice cream venue has been a long-term vision, now brought to fruition.

Maria Punzo-Arias, Cicero's town clerk, echoed the excitement with her words: “It’s always an honor to see our business community grow. Standing here, you can already smell the delicious flavors waiting inside. We’re looking forward to seeing La Xhula flourish!” Furthermore, she appreciated Ismael Vargas for his role in aiding businesses in settling within Cicero.

La Xhula promises a menu filled with a range of taco options, including traditional choices and more diverse selections like lengua and cabeza. Ice cream offerings are prepared with care, promising a memorable taste experience. “We want people to get hooked,” remarked the owners. “Our goal isn’t just to have one-time customers—we want them to keep coming back!”

Open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM, La Xhula is set to offer its innovative culinary experience to residents looking for a blend of savory and sweet treats. The town looks forward to this new favorite neighborhood spot flourishing.
