The Cicero Community Center hosted its annual Spring Bingo event, drawing local residents for a morning of games and social interaction. The event, which began at 10 a.m., aimed to foster community ties through fun and friendly competition.
Senior Center Director Diana Dominick welcomed attendees, highlighting the significance of such gatherings in building community connections. “This gathering is not just about playing a game. It’s about bringing our community together, sharing memories, and celebrating friendships,” she stated. She emphasized the importance of staying connected and creating joyful moments together.
Acknowledgments were given to those who contributed to the event's success, including Town President Larry Dominick, the Board of Trustees, Senior Center workers Isabella, Princess, and Lupita, as well as members of Districts 99 and 201. Their efforts were crucial in organizing the event.
Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias underscored the value of keeping seniors engaged within the community. “Events like this are vital because they provide opportunities for social interaction, laughter, and keeping the mind sharp,” she noted. She also extended St. Joseph’s Day wishes to attendees.
Trustee Victor Garcia expressed similar sentiments on community engagement, noting that events are held throughout the year to keep residents connected. “Every event is designed for them to enjoy themselves, and that’s why we always see such great turnout,” he said. He encouraged everyone to appreciate springtime with family and prepare for Easter celebrations.
As bingo numbers were called out and winners claimed their prizes, the event served as a reminder of community importance and unity. The Spring Bingo remains a cherished tradition that brings smiles and a sense of belonging to participants.
