Saporito Finishing recently marked National Surface Finishing Day with an event at its facility in Cicero. The day, observed annually on the first Wednesday of March, celebrates the contributions of professionals in the finishing industry. Saporito Finishing has been a key player in this sector for nearly 80 years, offering services that enhance the durability and quality of metal components.

President Jeff Logan expressed gratitude to attendees: “Thank you guys for coming to Saporito Finishing and helping us celebrate National Service Finishing Day, which is celebrated on the first Wednesday of March annually,” he said. “It’s a way of recognizing the people and all their hard work, everything that they do for this industry, which really is incredibly vital to manufacturing as a whole.”

The company specializes in various metal finishing techniques such as zinc plating, anodizing, and industrial hard chrome. These processes are essential across industries including automotive, aerospace, medical, and food service. Logan elaborated: “People make parts, they send them here and then we finish and we do things like zinc plating, which is the biggest finish that we do,” he explained. “You can think of a zinc-plated nut, screw or bolt but also brackets that you’ll find in your cars. And then we do anodizing. Easiest thing for anodized is probably your aluminum pans. Those great pans—that’s all hard-coated anodized; all your nonstick pans.”

Founded by Charles Saporito Sr. in 1946, Saporito Finishing remains family-owned and continues to expand its operations within a 140,000-square-foot facility employing 160 workers—many from Cicero itself.

Cicero Business License Director Ismael Vargas commented on the company's local impact: “Well we are very happy,” Vargas noted. “You know when you think about a company like this that has been established for almost 80 years here in Cicero...you have to think about how it has been beneficial to our community...over 160 employees that are here in this company; 90% are from Cicero.”

Saporito Finishing maintains high standards through ISO 9001 and NADCAP certifications enabling collaboration with aerospace and defense sectors while committing to environmental responsibility and technological progress.
