The Brookfield Village Hall will host an informational meeting on January 9, 2025, regarding the Brookfield Shops at Progress Park. This new initiative is a small business incubator program designed to support local entrepreneurs. The session will take place in the Council Chamber from 4 to 5 p.m.

Attendees will gain insights into what a retail incubator entails, eligibility criteria, and the application process. The program's structure, mentorship opportunities, and future workshops will also be discussed. There will be an opportunity for questions about how the Brookfield Shops can assist in realizing retail ambitions.

The Brookfield Shops is a seasonal retail incubator running from June to December annually. It allows vendors to rent mini-storefront spaces in Progress Park while engaging in a collaborative environment. Participants benefit from business mentorship, marketing support, and resources essential for success.

Shops operate Friday through Sunday with operating times to be announced soon. Vendors must participate collectively during these days.

Vendor selection involves a jury review process starting in January with seven jurors chosen by February from community applicants. A "Shark Tank" style presentation of ten minutes before the jurors will determine six vendors for the 2025 program.

Applications are currently open requiring business details, product photos, and complete business plans. Vendor selections for 2025 conclude in February with announcements made in March.

The program aims to support small businesses and artisans by offering guidance and fostering unique high-quality products.
