Village of Western Springs has announced several important updates for the upcoming holiday season. The administrative offices will not be operational on December 24, 25, and January 1. Additionally, these offices will close earlier than usual at 3 p.m. on December 23 and at noon on December 31.
There will be a temporary suspension of overnight street parking regulations from December 23 through January 1. However, snow parking rules will remain active, prohibiting parking on village streets for a period of twelve hours after more than two inches of snow have fallen to allow for effective salting and plowing.
The regular collection schedule by LRS for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday services will experience a one-day delay during both Christmas and New Year weeks. Services scheduled for Monday and Tuesday will continue without any changes.
LRS also announced a complimentary curbside pick-up service for Christmas trees from January 2 to January 17. After this date, residents must use one sticker per tree for collection.
In an effort to encourage recycling, unwanted holiday lights can be deposited in designated recycling areas located in the lobby at Village Hall, Thomas Ford Library, and Village True Value Hardware until January 31.
