Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias and Trustee Victor Garcia participated in the annual Christmas Dinner Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Community Chest of Cicero. The event took place in December, with John S. Kociolko, President of the Chest and former Town Assessor, leading the program at the Red Feather Building. He was assisted by Treasurer Gary Nation and Secretary Denis Kowalewski.
On behalf of Town President Larry Dominick, Punzo-Arias and Kociolko commenced the event with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in an auditorium decorated for the season.
During the meeting, officials presented a grant from the Town on behalf of President Larry Dominick. This grant supports several partner agencies: Boys Club of Cicero, Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn, Family Service and Mental Health, Salvation Army, and UCP/Seguin.
Kociolko recognized other donors and expressed gratitude to the Town of Cicero for its ongoing support. He noted that "the Chest has been serving our community since 1943."
