Residents of Western Springs are encouraged to participate in a market assessment consumer survey regarding the downtown area. The survey will remain open until December 20, 2024.
The Community Development Department is working on updating the Market Assessment for the village's downtown, which was last conducted in 2007. This update involves interviews with key stakeholders, an inventory of current conditions, and an analysis of visitor usage patterns.
The completed assessment aims to provide recommendations for attracting businesses and visitors, as well as identifying potential growth sectors. These findings will be presented to the Village Board of Trustees. A deeper understanding of the downtown's marketability is expected to guide policy decisions that address the needs of both existing and future businesses. This initiative seeks to maintain vibrancy in the downtown area while creating new opportunities.
Business owners in Western Springs are also invited to participate in a separate Business Owner Survey.
