Cicero Fire Department celebrates leadership changes during town board meeting

During the Cicero Town Board meeting on November 12, 2024, the Cicero Fire Department held a ceremony to recognize the promotions of several members. This event marked a significant moment for leadership within the department.

Fire Chief Jeff Penzkofer addressed President Larry Dominick, Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, board members, and attendees at the ceremony. "We’ve lost over 60 years of service with the two guys retiring," said Chief Penzkofer about the recent retirements. He expressed confidence in those promoted: "They’ll do just fine and fit right into their new roles."

The following personnel received promotions:

- Thomas Santoro was promoted from Battalion Chief to Deputy Fire Chief.

- Noah Buckley advanced from Lieutenant to Assistant Chief/Battalion Chief.

- Daniel Pedretti also moved up from Lieutenant to Assistant Chief/Battalion Chief.

- Michael Stahl was elevated from Engineer to Lieutenant.

- Edward Ross rose from Engineer to Lieutenant.

- Adam Marcolini progressed from Firefighter to Engineer.

Each individual was formally sworn into their new position with family present. In keeping with tradition, spouses and loved ones pinned new badges onto the firefighters.

Chief Penzkofer concluded by thanking the board and town for their support and expressed confidence in maintaining excellence through these new leaders. The promotions highlight Cicero's dedication to public safety and community service.
