The Town of Cicero held its second business meeting on October 28 at the Cicero Community Center. The event aimed to foster collaboration and address issues affecting local businesses. Business owners, department heads, and town representatives gathered to discuss ongoing initiatives.

Diana Dominick, Director of the Senior Center and Community Liaison, opened the meeting by emphasizing community collaboration. "This open house is a great opportunity for us to come together as a community," she said. "We’re here to share updates on the work we’re doing together to address the issues that matter most to you."

Ismael Vargas, Director of Business Licensing, thanked attendees for their commitment and mentioned an upcoming meeting on November 13 for businesses with liquor licenses. "President Larry Dominick wants us to work as a team to support you and find solutions," Vargas stated.

Specific concerns were raised by a funeral home regarding parking and signage issues. Town Clerk Fran Reitz acknowledged these concerns and encouraged direct communication with department heads.

Deputy Schullo highlighted Cicero’s Real-Time Operations Center's new security initiative involving integrated infrastructure. "We have over 60 license plate readers and 70 cameras around the town," Schullo noted.

Superintendent of Police Tom Boyle discussed the center's potential to enhance police responsiveness through a voluntary program allowing businesses to integrate their security cameras with the town’s network. "Working together like this, we can make Cicero a safer place for everyone," Boyle explained.

The meeting concluded with Diana Dominick stressing continued collaboration: "This open house is a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together as a community."
