Families from Cicero gathered at the community center on October 24th for the annual Trick or Treat event. The gathering, which started at 5 p.m., is a local tradition focused on providing a safe and fun environment for Halloween celebrations.

The event featured tables adorned with Halloween decorations and candy, drawing children in costumes eager to participate. Town Trustee Victor Garcia expressed his approval of holding the event indoors: "I think trick or treating inside was a great idea. You never really know how the weather is going to be. I want to wish everyone a safe Halloween."

Special Events Director Patty Salerno explained the decision to host the event indoors this year, saying, "We did change the name from Trunk or Treat at the Town of Cicero to Trick or Treat at the Cicero Community Center, only because we never know what the weather will be like. Today turned out to be beautiful, but it’s hard to predict, and it’s just easier for kids to come inside, have fun, and leave with a bag full of candy."

Salerno also noted that this year's event might surpass last year's attendance of around 2,000 children. She credited President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees for their support: "None of this would be possible without the support of President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees. President Dominick is a big advocate for these events for the kids."

The gym hosted 39 tables decorated in Halloween themes designed to delight young attendees. Town Trustee Blanca Vargas acknowledged President Dominick's efforts: "First of all, I want to thank President Larry Dominick for organizing these events, especially for our children. They deserve to feel the fun and excitement of Halloween."

As families left with bags full of candy, they carried away memories that underscored Cicero's community spirit.
