The 56th annual Houby Festival in Cicero, held from October 3rd to October 6th, attracted nearly 13,000 visitors. The event celebrated the town's Czech and Slovak heritage with a variety of activities at the Cicero Fairgrounds and Community Park. Attendees enjoyed carnival rides, live music, and local vendors offering traditional foods and handmade crafts.

Cicero President Larry Dominick highlighted the festival's success, stating, “The Houby Festival is one of our town’s proudest traditions. Seeing thousands of people come together like this reminds us of the strength of our community and our commitment to preserving our heritage.”

Despite the cancellation of the Houby Parade, an important part of the celebration, President Dominick noted, “We were all saddened by the circumstances that led to the parade being canceled, but the turnout for the festival shows how resilient and unified our town is.”

The absence of the parade did not diminish the festival's energy throughout the weekend. The Houby Festival remains one of Cicero’s most anticipated events.
