The Brookfield Women's Club successfully organized the Duck Race 2024, held on September 28, raising over $15,000 for the Brookfield Parks & Recreation Foundation. This year marked a record-breaking sale of more than 3,100 rubber ducks at local events such as the Brookfield Farmers Market and Friday Night Concerts.

The funds raised will support the foundation's mission to make park programs more affordable for families. The foundation aims to reduce fees and provide financial assistance for various activities, including before- and after-school care, summer camps, sports, art classes, cooking sessions, and other recreational programs.

For families seeking financial help to join these programs, Brookfield Recreation Director Luke Gundersen can be contacted at 708-485-1527.

The event concluded with cash prizes awarded to the owners of the first three ducks that crossed the finish line: $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, and $500 for third place.
