Brookfield Conservation Commission to host Meet the Creek event

The Brookfield Conservation Commission will host its annual Meet the Creek event on Saturday, September 21. The event will feature various activities suitable for all ages, including canoe and kayak rides on Salt Creek, opportunities to meet fish and other critters caught and released in Salt Creek, a children's scavenger hunt, a nature exploration station, and dip-netting for macroinvertebrates with Brookfield Zoo.

Additionally, the Title Wave book bike from Brookfield Library will be present, and there will be Nature Storytime sessions at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., also hosted by the library.

This event is designed as a Zero Waste initiative. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to use at the free filling station provided.

- Location: Kiwanis Park Pavilion, 8820 Brookfield Ave., Brookfield

Canoeing and kayaking activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children participating in canoe rides must be at least three years old, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.
