The Royal Group celebrates a century of community with historical marker unveiling in Cicero

On August 20, 2024, The Royal Group (TRG) marked a significant milestone at their 1301 S. 47th Ave. location in Cicero. Established in 1922, TRG has been integral to the community for over a century. To commemorate their 102 years in business and their enduring relationship with the Town of Cicero, the company invited town officials to unveil a historical marker provided by the town.

Katie Wilhelm, Senior Vice President – Midwest for TRG, expressed her gratitude during the event: “I definitely want to thank the Town of Cicero, the board, and Mrs. Dominick for being here. It’s a pleasure and a true honor that Cicero is honoring us today for our hundred years here in town. We’re very, very thankful.”

Maria Punzo-Arias, the Town Clerk, spoke on behalf of the Town of Cicero: “On behalf of President Larry Dominick and the town board, it is our honor to be here at this great event marking the historical marker for The Royal Group.”

Diana Dominick, First Lady of Cicero, had the privilege of unveiling the marker: “It is a great honor to be able to be the one who unveils this beautiful, beautiful, amazing historical marker.”

Town Trustee Victor Garcia highlighted TRG’s significance in the community: “I’m very proud to be here this afternoon because The Royal Group has invited us to celebrate another year of their work here in the Town of Cicero. We are very proud because they’ve been in town for over a hundred years and all the services like jobs and scholarships they provide for the community.”

Katie further emphasized TRG's strong partnership with Cicero: “It’s pretty exciting. I mean honestly, the partnership with Cicero has been amazing. We’ve been an ally and a help through everything we’ve done... It’s been a fantastic relationship and to be honored like this means everything to all of us... Working all together has been a lot of fun. I really love it.”

Blanca Vargas echoed sentiments of pride and appreciation: “Actually, I am very proud to be here today because The Royal Group is celebrating their 102nd Anniversary... They hire so many residents of our community... helping our youth and young adults build a career within the company.”

Frank Aguilar expressed his gratitude towards TRG for supporting community initiatives like Chicagoland Toys for Tots: “I am glad to be here supporting The Royal Group... They made beautiful boxes that are going to last for a long time... We want to make sure Cicero kids get toys.”

The event celebrated dedication, partnership, and service as The Royal Group and Town of Cicero look forward to continued collaboration.
