During the summer months, SBC Waste Solutions Inc., the city's garbage and recycling provider, offers free weekly yard waste collection at alley side on the same day as regular garbage pickup. Proper landscape management is essential to avoid city fines, which can range from $50.00 to $750.00 per day for improper yard waste disposal according to Illinois statute.

Residents are advised to keep their lawns trimmed and alleyways clear of overgrown weeds and brushes. The City of Berwyn has made available a Yard Waste Collection Guidelines flyer, detailing what items qualify as yard waste and providing seasonal procedures for proper disposal.

"Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Berwyn Beautiful!"
