Seniors enjoy a special Father’s Day celebration June 12

Cicero seniors celebrated Father’s Day a few days early this year. President Larry Dominick, the board of trustees, along with the Cicero Senior Center, brought together dozens of fathers for a day to honor them.

The celebration took place on Wednesday, June 12th at 10 a.m. in the Cicero Community Center. Fathers were able to get pampered with haircuts and manicures while waiting for the party to start.

“A special thank you goes out to President Larry Dominick and the board of trustees for supporting our trips, activities, and events such as this one today,” said Senior Center Director Diana Dominick. “Father’s Day is a holiday dedicated to the recognition and appreciation for the contributions that fathers, grandfathers, uncles and any other significant male figure we have in one's life.”

“Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers and all the mothers who are fathers; there are a lot of them,” said President Dominick. “I’m happy to see all the seniors. I’m glad everyone looks good.”

After brunch, President Dominick gave away hundreds of car clubs to everyone who needed one. “We do everything we can here in town. President Dominick and our administration are always trying to do everything we can for the seniors,” said Town Assessor Emo Cundari. “I want to wish all the fathers a happy Father’s Day this weekend and a safe summer for everybody.”

All the fathers also received a “Larry Dominick” hat and posed for a group picture.

“We want to thank everybody who made it possible to enjoy this Father’s Day celebration,” said Town Trustee Victor Garcia. “I’m just very happy these programs continue here in our town of Cicero. This wouldn’t be possible without President Larry Dominick and the board,” said Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias.

“We want to thank our President Larry Dominick for being so kind and giving. These gifts will be very meaningful to our community,” said Town Trustee Blanca Vargas.

Cicero celebró el Día del Padre unos días antes este año. El presidente Larry Dominick, la junta de fideicomisarios y el Centro para Personas Mayores de Cicero reunieron a docenas de padres para un día en su honor.

La celebración tuvo lugar el miércoles 12 de junio a las 10 a.m. en el Centro Comunitario de Cicero. Los padres pudieron consentirse con cortes de cabello y manicuras mientras esperaban que comenzara la fiesta.

“Un agradecimiento especial al presidente Larry Dominick y a la junta de fideicomisarios por apoyar nuestros viajes, actividades y eventos como este de hoy,” dijo la directora del Centro para Personas Mayores, Diana Dominick.

“El Día del Padre es una festividad dedicada al reconocimiento y apreciación de las contribuciones que hacen los padres, abuelos, tíos y cualquier otra figura masculina significativa en nuestras vidas.”

“Feliz Día del Padre a todos los padres y a todas las madres que son padres; hay muchas de ellas,” dijo el presidente Dominick. “Me alegra ver a todos los mayores. Me da gusto que todos se vean bien.”

Después del almuerzo, el presidente Dominick repartió cientos de clubes para autos a todos los que necesitaban uno.

“Hacemos todo lo que podemos aquí en la ciudad. El presidente Dominick y nuestra administración siempre están tratando de hacer todo lo posible por los mayores,” dijo el asesor del municipio Emo Cundari.

“Quiero desearles a todos los padres un feliz Día del Padre este fin de semana y un verano seguro para todos.”

Todos los padres también recibieron un sombrero con el nombre “Larry Dominick” y posaron para una gran foto de grupo.

“Queremos agradecer a todos los que hicieron posible disfrutar de esta celebración del Día del Padre,” dijo el fideicomisario del municipio Víctor García.

“Estoy muy contento de que estos programas continúen aquí en nuestro pueblo de Cicero. Esto no sería posible sin el presidente Larry Dominick y la junta,” dijo la secretaria municipal María Punzo-Arias.

“Queremos agradecer a nuestro presidente Larry Dominick por ser tan amable y generoso. Estos regalos serán muy significativos para nuestra comunidad,” dijo la fideicomisaria del municipio Blanca Vargas.
