Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride to pass through Brookfield on June 13

Brookfield residents are invited to salute wounded veterans and show support by attending the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride, which will pass through Brookfield on the morning of Thursday, June 13.

The Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride is a multi-day event designed to help veterans build confidence and strength through shared physical activities and bonds of service in a supportive environment. The program includes skill-building practices that accommodate all ability levels. Participants ride together as a unit, mirroring their military service experience.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization that provides support in obtaining benefits, financial assistance, peer support, and both mental and physical care.

Residents are encouraged to come out and support the Wounded Warriors as they cycle through Brookfield. The ride begins at Possum Hollow Woods in LaGrange at 9:30 a.m., traveling south on Brainard Avenue from 31st Street to Harding Avenue. Cyclists will then head east, arriving at Kemman and Washington around 9:45 a.m., before heading back north to 31st Street and riding east to Desplaines Avenue.

The route continues north to Thatcher Woods in River Forest before returning south into Brookfield around 11:20 a.m. along 31st Street. Riders will turn south on Maple Avenue at about 11:25 a.m., travel through Veterans Memorial Circle, then east on Washington Avenue, passing Arden Avenue around 11:34 a.m., continuing east to Golf Road, where they will enter Brookfield Zoo's South Gate and conclude at the Discovery Center around 11:40 a.m.
