The town of Cicero celebrated the annual Mother and Son Dance on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Cicero Community Center. The event, which was completely sold out, attracted approximately 450 attendees who enjoyed entertainment, dancing, and a special dinner.

The dance is exclusively for mothers and sons, following the annual Father and Daughter dinner dance that took place last month. Patti Salerno, Special Events Director, stated that due to the popularity of these events they are restricted to fathers and daughters or mothers and sons. However, she added that the town plans to organize a Family Party in December.

“The events are so popular President Larry Dominick has asked the Department of Special Events to host a Family dinner so all of the parents and children can enjoy an event together,” Mrs. Salerno said. She also noted plans to move the Family event to a larger venue to accommodate more attendees.

Mrs. Salerno expressed her gratitude towards the staff at the Community Center, the Special Events team, and the Bobby Hull Ice Rink team for their contributions in making this event successful. "I want to thank our staff at the Community Center...who helped out to make this a great event," she said.

Mothers and sons who attended posed for photographs and danced together during the event. Those who had registered for it received gifts. Mrs. Salerno also expressed her gratitude towards President Dominick and the Board of Trustees for their support in organizing these popular events.

The Cicero Channel 6 TV Crew interviewed many of the mothers who brought their sons to dance. A video of the event can be viewed via this link: https://newcicerotv.com/video/945553527. More photos from this event can be found on Town of Cicero's Facebook page.
