Town President Larry Dominick and the Town of Cicero Board of Trustees Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, Supervisor Joe Virruso, Assessor Emilio “Emo” Cundari, Collector Fran Reitz and trustees Victor Garcia, Bob Porod, John Cava and Blanca Vargas were proud to sponsor this year’s annual and successful Cinco de Mayo celebration with entertainment, carnival, food and family and senior activities.
More than 20,000 people attended the celebration which is considered one of the largest celebrations of Mexican culture in the Midwest.
“It was so nice to meet residents and talk to them and to enjoy the Mexican culture,” said President Dominick.
“We are very proud of everyone in our community but especially proud of the rich culture of Mexican heritage shared by so many in Cicero.”

El Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick y la Secretaria de la Junta de Síndicos del Municipio de Cicero, María Punzo-Arias, junto con el Supervisor Joe Virruso, el Tasador Emilio “Emo” Cundari, el Colector Fran Reitz y los síndicos Víctor García, Bob Porod, John Cava y Blanca Vargas, se enorgullecieron de patrocinar la exitosa celebración anual del Cinco de Mayo de este año, con entretenimiento, feria, comida y actividades familiares y para personas mayores.
Más de 20,000 personas asistieron a la celebración, la cual es considerada una de las más grandes celebraciones de la cultura mexicana en el Medio Oeste.
“Fue un gusto conocer a los residentes, platicar con ellos y disfrutar de la cultura mexicana”, dijo el Presidente Dominick. “Estamos muy orgullosos de todos en nuestra comunidad, pero especialmente orgullosos de la rica cultura de herencia mexicana compartida por tantos en Cicero.”
