The Western Springs Senior Center is taking proactive steps to protect seniors from falling victim to scams. A special event, titled "Scam Smart Series: Keeping Seniors Safe," is scheduled to take place on May 22, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Western Springs Village Hall Board Room located at 740 Hillgrove Avenue.

The event will feature a lineup of distinguished presenters, including Director of Law Enforcement Services, Sean Gilhooley; Director of Technology, Pat Schramm; and Police Detective, Kenneth Lafin. These experts will share valuable information aimed at helping seniors avoid falling prey to various scams that target the elderly population.

The collaboration between Age Options and Aging Care Connections ensures that attendees will benefit from the knowledge and experience of this esteemed group of professionals. The event venue, Western Springs Village Hall Board Room, has been chosen for its accessibility, being handicapped accessible, to accommodate all seniors who wish to attend.

This initiative is brought to the community by the Western Springs Senior Center, demonstrating their commitment to safeguarding the well-being of seniors and empowering them with the necessary tools to protect themselves from potential scams.
