The Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security (EMRS) is actively seeking input from residents on how to improve preparedness for natural hazards and disasters. Three public meetings have been scheduled to engage with the community on this important issue.

According to the EMRS, the purpose of these meetings is to "review the potential hazards that could occur in Cook County, and seek input on the various measures intended to eliminate or reduce the impact of those hazards." The department is keen on involving residents in the mitigation process to ensure effective disaster response and recovery.

In a statement, the EMRS also highlighted an alternative way for those unable to attend the meetings to participate, stating, "If you are unable to attend a meeting, please consider taking the survey referenced in the flyer." This indicates the department's commitment to gathering feedback from a diverse range of community members.

For further information or inquiries, the EMRS has provided contact details, saying, "Questions? Contact the Cook County EMRS at (312) 603-8180, or visit the website noted below." Residents are encouraged to reach out with any questions or to access additional resources related to hazard mitigation.

The upcoming public meetings represent an opportunity for Cook County residents to contribute to the enhancement of disaster preparedness efforts in their community. By actively engaging with residents, the EMRS aims to create a more resilient and well-prepared county in the face of potential natural disasters.
