West Springs, May 1, 2024 - At a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Board considered several options that would reduce the strain on water treatment operations during the peak summer months. The increase in demand for water puts additional stress on the overall treatment process, requiring frequent replacement of membrane cartridges and a higher dosage of chemicals.
On April 22, 2024, the Board of Trustees voted to implement annual outdoor watering restrictions during the peak summer months. "The increase in demand for water puts additional stress on the overall treatment process, requiring frequent replacement of membrane cartridges and a higher dosage of chemicals," stated the Board of Trustees.
Effective May 27, 2024, residents and businesses in West Springs will be required to adhere to the new regulations. "Beginning May 27, 2024, residents and businesses will be asked to refrain from outdoor watering between the hours of 11 am – 5 pm," emphasized the Board of Trustees.
The restrictions will be in place from Memorial Day through Labor Day to help conserve water resources in the region. For more information on the annual watering restrictions, residents can visit the official website at https://wsprings.com/791/Annual-Watering-Restrictions.
