Village of Broadview President and Board of Trustees met July 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

I. CALL TO ORDER 

The Regular Board Meeting of Monday, July 18, 2022 was called to order by Mayor Thompson at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers at 2350 South 25th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155.

ROLL CALL 

Upon roll call by Kevin McGrier, Village Clerk, the following answered Present: Trustee(s) J. Abraham, A. Senior, Mayor Thompson Absent: S. Armour, P. Chao-Malave (Arrived 7:44pm) J. Miller (Arrived 7:49pm) There being a quorum the meeting was called to order. 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO FLAG 

Everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

MOMENT OF SILENCE 

Everyone joined in a moment of silence.

Mayor Thompson discussed the towing situation | 13 cars towed, 6 had permits, 7 did not

Mayor Thompson discussed the storm and various items having to do with reimbursements

A. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING EXPENSES RELATED TO TRUSTEE JUDY MILLER’S ATTENDANCE AT THE NATIONAL BLACK CAUCUS LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIAL (“NBC-LEO”) SUMMER CONFERENCE FOR THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS.

Discussion: Mayor Thompson expounded.

B. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING EXPENSES RELATED TO THE ATTENDANCE OF THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND CERTAIN TRUSTEES AT THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES - CITY SUMMIT FOR THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS.

C. A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SUPPORTING A CLASS 6B REAL ESTATE TAX ASSESSMENT APPLICATION BY VERDE PROPERTIES, LLC FOR AN INDUSTRIAL FACILITY LOCATED AT 2315 GARDNER ROAD. Motion to approve by Trustee Abraham and Seconded by Trustee Senior 

Discussion: Mayor Thompson asked Commissioner Upshaw to give details. Commissioner Upshaw gave details. Mayor Thompson clarified certain items. Trustee Armour had questions, answered by Mayor Thompson. Karen, the owner of Verde gave comments thanking the Village for its support. Commited to paying for 25 tree replacements. Aye: Trustee(s) J. D. A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CDBG FY2021 ALLEY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO TRIGGI CONSTRUCTION, INC. AFTER COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS. Motion to approve by Trustee Abraham and Seconded by Trustee Shelby 

Discussion: Mayor Thompson asked Chris Baker with Hancock engineering to give details. Trustee Miller had comments.

E. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 3 OF THE BROADVIEW VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING LIQUOR CONTROL AND A NEW LICENSE CLASSIFICATION IN THE VILLAGE OF BROADVIEW, COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS.
