Village of Franklin Park Fire & Police Commission met May 1

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Call to order: The meeting for the Fire & Police Commission was called to order by Commissioner Marifza Souchet at 6:00 pm.

Rotl Call / Quorum: Present is Commissioner MaÅtza Souchet, Commissioner Irene Herera, Commissioner Guillermo Rios and Secretary Margarita Whaley. Also in attendance are Fire Chief Mark Stewart, Commander Robert Jensen and Trustee Bill Ruhl.

Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the April 3,2023 meeting minutes was made by Commissioner Souchet and seconded by Commissioner Herrera. Motion passed.

Communications:

Commander Jensen: Director Witz requested to have initial sergeant list posted to village. We had our newest officer start the academy today.

Chief Stewart: Commissioners discussed how the oral interviews will be run since this is the first time without COPS/FIRE. Chief Stewart printed out sample questionnaire packet and said would come and check candidates. He could answer questions that are specific to the department as well. The Commission decided to meet on Sunday (5ll123) morning to go over what questions are best and how to score along with Chief Stewart to answer any questions about scoring.

Unfinished Business : None

New Business: Commission looked over payroll and all looked good.

Secretary Whaley notified Commission that she resigned and the June 5, 2023 meeting will be her last.

Adjournment: Motion to adjourn at 6:25 pm made by Commissioner Souchet and seconded by Commissioner Herrera with all in favor.
