Village of Franklin Park Fire & Police Commission met Feb. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Call to order: The meeting for the Fire & Police Commission was called to order by Commissioner Maritza Souchet at 6:01 pm.

Roll Call / Quorum: Present is Commissioner Maritza Souchet, Commissioner Irene Hetrera, Commissioner Guillermo Rios and Secretary Margarita Whaley. Also in attendance are Director of Police Mike Witz, Fire Chief Mark Stewart and Trustee Bill Ruhl.

Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the January 3,2023 meeting minutes was made by Commissioner Souchet and seconded by Commissioner Herrera. Motion passed.

Communications:

Director Witzz Update on sergeant's testing from Secretary Whaley. Following dates updated with COPS/FIRE & clerk:

Written test > Saturday March 24,2023 (9 am - noon)

Assessments > Tuesday April 18 & Wednesday April 19 (8 am -2 pm)

Director Witz requested Executive Session to go over files

Chief Stewart: We are talking to National Testing Network Grfï.{) about immediate hires (down 4) and eventually getting an eligibility list. Secretary Whaley and I will wrap up paperwork to get that listing going.

Unfinished Business: None

New Business: None

Commissioner Souchet made motion to go into Executive Session at 6:10, Commission Herrera seconded. Moved to Executive Session

Motion to come out of Executive Session made at 6:31.

Commission made motion to move following 5 candidates: Heredia, Patino, Shaikat, Gonzalez & Figueroa to poly & psych with COPS/FIRE

Public Comments: None

Adjournment: Motion to adjourn at 6:50 pm made by Commissioner Souchet and seconded by Commissioner Herrera with all in favor.
