Village of Brookfield Village Board met Jan. 23 

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Village Board of the Village of Brookfield was called to order on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 6:30 PM, in the Edward Barcal Hall 8820 Brookfield Avenue Brookfield, IL 60513, with the following members present:

PRESENT: Village President Michael Garvey, Village Clerk Brigid Weber, Trustee Kit Ketchmark, Trustee Kathryn Kaluzny, Trustee David LeClere, and Trustee Jennifer Hendricks

EXCUSED: Trustee Brian Conroy and Trustee Edward Cote  

STAFF PRESENT: Adam Durkin, Carl Muell, Doug Cooper, Emily Egan, Michael Kuruvilla, Stevie Ferrari, and Tim Wiberg

3 APPOINTMENTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

a) NAMI Metro Suburban and Pillars Community Health

Kimberly Knake of NAMI Metro Suburban and Angela Curran of Pillars Community Health give a presentation on the new teen mental health center. The presentation provides information on mental health issues among those 6- 17. There are three main drop-in program offerings that the teen mental health center will provide. This teen mental health center called "The Loft at 8 Corners" will be open 365 days a year. The research and planning that went into "The Loft at 8 Corners" is discussed. Comments are made by President Garvey and Trustee Hendricks. 

b) Business Recognition

Martin Lynch of Irish Times receives a certificate honoring the achievement of selling one million pints of Guinness. Comments are made by President Garvey and Martin Lynch. 

c) Promotion of Police Sergeant Nicholas Hahn to Police Lieutenant

Police Chief Michael Kuruvilla provides a background of Police Sergeant Nicholas Hahn's 20-year career in the Brookfield Police Department. Police Sergeant Nicholas Hahn is promoted to Police Lieutenant.
