It was moved by Commissioner Maxham and seconded by Commissioner Nero that the minutes from the November 28, 2022, Regular Meeting of the Council be approved without reading as each member has received a copy thereof.

APPROVAL OF BILLS:
It was moved by Commissioner Byrnes and seconded by Commissioner Maxham that the Resolution for the payment of bills be adopted. The bills totaled $1,998,830.16.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT:
Administrator Amidei extended his gratitude to the team of staff, officials, and community members and stated he’s looking forward to 2023. The administrator warned residents to plan ahead for the storm expected later this week. The village is looking into replacing the water meters at each address, which will include technology capable of alerting property owners of excessive water consumption, among other things. Last, the administrator wished all Happy Holidays.
COMMISSIONER’S REPORTS:
Commissioner Byrnes expressed his gratitude to the Finance and Fire Departments for their comprehensive reports and wished all Happy and Safe Holidays.
Commissioner Maxham reported that the Community Center is partnering with the Illinois Department of Public Health and conducting a winter coat and gear drive. New or used coats, hats, gloves and winter gear can be dropped off at the Community Center for distribution to those in need. Information about the drive will be available on the village’s website. In addition, The Altenheim Steering Committee met on December 5 and heard presentations from several stakeholders. The next meeting is scheduled for January 9, 2023. Last, the commissioner wished all Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
Commissioner Nero assured residents that the village is well-prepared for the expected storm this week. The commissioner extended his gratitude to Public Works Director, Sal Stella for his ongoing efforts and for the legwork done on the water meter replacement project. The commissioner wished all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
Commissioner Voogd gave an overview of activities and accomplishments over the last year, including equipment purchases through the new fleet replacement fund, being named Tree City USA for another year, fundraising for equipment at the Dog Park, Recreation Board Community Cleanup days, participation in the regional C-4 Partnership, introduction of single-use food ware ordinance, and the creation of the Altenheim Steering Committee. The commissioner expressed her gratitude to staff and wished all a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Mayor Hoskins recognized village employees and issued service awards to the following employees:
25 Years – Sharon O’Shea and Anthony Villasenor
20 Years – Mark Maylath
15 Years – Dan Miller, Margie Wilkinson and Humberto Soto
10 Years – Matt Dowdle
5 Years – Wendy Keohane, Joel Zavala and Laura O’Donnell
The mayor further echoed commissioners in their expressions of gratitude to the Staff and Volunteers. Mayor Hoskins thanked all those who generously donated toys to the Toy Drive, which will be distributed to children who would otherwise not receive Christmas gifts. Last, more filming is scheduled to be occurring on Madison Street in early January.
