Stars Fall In Overtime
The Dominican University men's basketball team traveled to Aurora University to take on the Spartans, in the Stars second straight road conference game.
Results:
Aurora: 85
Dominican: 74
How it Happened:
-In the first half both teams struggled shooting from the field. With the Stars shooting 34% and the Spartans shot 36%. Giving Aurora a three point lead at halftime 30-27.
-Dominican and Aurora were extremely competitive in the second half with both teams scoring 40 points in the second.
-Dominican won the second half 43-40 pushing the game to overtime.
-DU only shot 14% from the field in OT and scored 4 points, while AU shot 75% from the field and scored 15 points in OT.
-The Stars lived at the line in the second half shooting 14 free throws and making 9 of them. while in the first half and over time they shot 4 free throws.
-The difference in this game was the points in the paint battle that Aurora dominated 60-32.
-Dominican also could not over come 21 turnovers which lead to 16 points.
Shining Stars:
-Freshman Lathan Lewis lead the team with 15 points and shooting 6-12 from the field. Lewis also grabbed six rebounds.
-.Freshman Joshua West finished with a double double scoring 10 points and collecting 12 rebounds.
