Stars Fall at Monmouth
The Dominican University women's basketball team went on the road to take on the Scots from Monmouth University.
Results:
Monmouth: 68
Dominican: 50
How it Happened:
-Dominican fell behind early and had to come from behind the whole game.
-DU gave up 37 points in the first half and 31 in the second half.
-Dominican trailed 37-23 at halftime
-The Stars came out of halftime with a little bit of pressure and scored 14 points in the third quarter.
-The offense for Monmouth scored most of their points inside the arc and at the free throw line.
-The Stars only allowed the Scots to shoot 19% from behind the three point line.
-DU couldn't overcome the early deficit, despite only being outscored by 4 points in the second half.
Shining Stars:
-Freshman Kameron Goodman lead the team with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals.
-Junior Mackenize Coleman did a little bit of everything today scoring 10 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists.
-Junior Kamryn Woods lead the team from behind the arc shooting 2-3.
-Freshman Toni Hayes was a big impact on the defensive end collecting 2 blocks and 2 rebounds.
