Stars Fall at Saint Mary's

 

The Dominican University women's basketball team went on the road for the first time this season, where they traveled to Saint Mary's College.

Results:
Saint Mary's: 80
Dominican: 57

How it Happened:
- Saint Mary's (2-0) 40.8 percent from the field compared to Dominican's (0-2) 29.7 percent. 
-Dominican fought hard in the second half and scored 32 out of their 57 points. 
-The Stars couldn't overcome their 17 turnovers and make Saint Mary's pay for their 21 turnovers. 
-Dominican was out rebounded 60-40 by Saint Mary's 
-The Belles also made 8 threes compared to the Dominican's 4.
-Saint Mary's also won the free throw battle making 15 of their 23 free throw attempts compared to the Dominican making 10 of their 13 free throw attempts.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Kameron Goodman led the Stars in scoring with 14 points.
-Junior Kamryn Woods had a good offensive game with 12 points. 
-Freshman Toni Hayes lead the Stars on the glass with nine rebounds. Five offensive, and four defensive.
