City of Northlake City Council met Sept. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Johnson

Alderman Urbina

Alderman Grochowski

Alderman Patti

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE BRIDGE: Alderman Contreras

Alderman Garcia

OTHERS PRESENT: Ken Beres, Chief Of Police

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

Mark Sterk, City Attorney

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on August 15, 2022. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on August 15, 2022; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 15, 2022 CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Urbina. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin noted the West Central Municipal Conference dinner is on September 23rd; the Northlake Senior Dinner is on October 27th; and that next month we resume having two City Council meetings a month.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Disposal of Unclaimed Lost or Stolen Bicycles; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. These bicycles will be donated to an organization called Working Bikes. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE DISPOSAL OF UNCLAIMED LOST OR STOLEN BICYCLES CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-11-2022; An Ordinance Establishing Electrical Wiring Requirements for Residential Buildings and Amending Title 8 of the Northlake City Code; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-11-2022; AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ELECTRICAL WIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND AMENDING TITLE 8 OF THE NORTHLAKE CITY CODE CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-12-2022; An Ordinance Vacating a Public Street Lying North of Lakewood Terrace in the City of Northlake; seconded by Alderman Johnson. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-12-2022; AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PUBLIC STREET LYING NORTH OF LAKEWOOD TERRACE IN THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion for Preliminary Approval of the 2023 Infrastructure Program; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Garcia, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

NAYS: None

MOTION FOR PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF THE 2023 INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM CARRIED

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote.

MOTION TO ADJOURN CARRIED
