1 President Lee calls meeting to order at 6:31 p.m.

Also present: Village Administrator Espiritu, Village Attorney Smith, Assistant Village Administrator Miller

4 Presentations and Appointment

Cook County Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar is welcomed by President Lee to the Berkeley Village Board meeting. Commissioner Aguilar informs all regarding recent grants that have been provided to Berkeley Village and businesses. Commissioner Aguilar distributes flyers to invite all for upcoming events.

4.1 Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) Pavement Management Report – Project Manager Mark Gardner

Mark Gardner and team reported on recent findings of road conditions in the entire Village of Berkeley. Administrator Espiritu said staff is working on a capital financing plan for this project and that will be presented at a future Board meeting. The plan will likely include the issuance of bonds, increasing the road maintenance budget and use of motor fuel tax funds.

9.5 Public Works and Utilities (Chair – Trustee Hammar; Co-Chair Trustee Mohammed)

9.5.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Trustee Hammar informs all the next Village/Park District ad-hoc meeting will be held on 9/14/22 at the village hall at 6:30 p.m. He advises all that the public works department is now at full force, they have recently made an addition to their department. There will be an open house and ribbon cutting for the new public works building (more information to follow).

9.6 Community and Intergovernmental Relations (Chair – Trustee Perez; Co Chair Trustee Graf-Stone)

9.6.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Trustee Perez had a recent meeting with his team to discuss success of recent events and what can be done differently to improve future events. Informs all of the joint Fall festival venture with Hillside on October 8-9.

10 Village President

10.1 9/14/22 Village/Park District Ad-Hoc Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

10.2 9/20/22 Village Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

10.3 9/23/22 West Central Municipal Conference Annual Dinner at 6:00 p.m. President Lee congratulates Administrator Espiritu on winning the Jack Williams Award for intergovernmental cooperation through the West Central Municipal Conference. He strongly suggests all residence and board members to get updated and be informed of Village/Park District ad-hoc meetings.

11 Village Administrator

Administrator Espiritu thanked the Mayor and Board for the congratulations on winning the Jack Williams Award. He was surprised and humbled to win the award. He said winning the award is a reflection of all the good things that we are doing together in Berkeley.

12 Village Attorney

Village Attorney Smith congratulates Administrator Espiritu on his Jack Williams Award.
