City of Northlake City Council met June 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:

Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Johnson

Alderman Gonzalez

Alderman Grochowski

Alderman Patti

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE

Bridge: Alderman Contreras

Absent: Alderman Garcia

OTHERS PRESENT: 

Ken Beres, Chief Of Police

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Mark Sterk, City Attorney

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on May 16, 2022. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on May 16, 2022; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MAY 16, 2022 CARRIED

There was a short swearing-in ceremony for a new Police Officer, Paul Hayslip.

Alderman Straube made a motion to reappoint Ronald Boscaccy to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning and Economic Development Commission; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

NAYS: None

MOTION TO REAPPOINT RONALD BOSCACCY TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS, PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to reappoint Anna Johnson to the Community Events and Affairs Commission; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

NAYS: None

MOTION TO REAPPOINT ANNA JOHNSON TO THE COMMUNITY

EVENTS AND AFFAIRS COMMISSION CARRIED

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to accept the warrants and vouchers; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

NAYS: None

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin reminded everyone that the first outdoor concert at the gazebo is on June 22nd; followed by Community Days on July 8, 9 and 12; and the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast will be on July 12th.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Purchase of a Back Hoe; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A BACK HOE CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the proposal from Safeguard Waterproofing for Interior Foundation Cracks/Water Seepage Repairs at City Hall; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Gonzalez, Grochowski And Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

NAYS: None

MOTION TO APPROVE THE PROPOSAL FROM SAFEGUARD WATERPROOFING FOR INTERIOR FOUNDATION CRACKS/WATER SEEPAGE REPAIRS AT CITY HALL CARRIED

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
