Village of Schiller Park Historical Commission met June 13.

CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 10:00AM by Dan Sliwicki
ROLL CALL: Dan Sliwicki, Diana Caffero, June Oulund, Warren Schuhrke, Claudia Irsuto (Absent), Leslie Williams, Hilde Kilian
LIAISON: Russ Klug
GUESTS: Mayor Caiafa
VOLUNTEERS: Dan Melone, Louise Bartnicki, Patty Schultz, Verlyn (Buzz) Spreeman Jr.
LIBRARY REPRESENTATIVE: Rae Elgin
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was said.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion made by Dan, Seconded by Diana, all agreed.
LIBRARY REPRESENTATIVE: Rae stated new director Valerie started but out for a few days. No information if library representative will travel for meetings. Need update on new contact information.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Leslie reported in the absence of Claudia that we have $4305.12 in our checking account, $2606.36 in money market and $20.68 on hand. Motion made by Warren, Seconded by June.
COMMUNICATIONS: Thank you from Caffero Family for the sympathy of Mike Caffero.
Village lawyer said return money to Robinson family. Received letter from Judy Wing, Charlene Holsteter – intent negated, Dan Malone and Verlyn (Buzz) Spreeman appointed family liaison per family request for security of headstones and Robinson history as it relates to the history of the Great Chicago History. The $2500.00 will be returned to Dan Malone and Buzz per the family request. Dan Malone will write letter to Robinson family and have it reviewed by lawyer. Motion by Hilde, Seconded by Warren.
June 14th – Memorial Wall Ceremony-June will read names.
Hilde reported on the Heritage Newsletter, NE.IL Historical Society
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT: Move is tentatively set for Friday, June 17, 9-1, depending on Mike Bloom’s availability.
Checking into insurance.
Before next meeting in July, have nominating committee (Claudia in charge).
ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Warren, seconded by Hilde to adjourn meeting at 11:15AM, all agreed.
