Long-time education advocate and gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey is keeping an eye on a race-based grading system.

The State Senator from Xenia has always been poised for ensuring quality education and is slamming the racist policy brought in into the education system.

"What is happening at Oak Park and River Forest High School is disturbing," Bailey stated. "It appears, they are indeed moving toward basing their grading on race despite their denials. As Governor, I will investigate what really is happening at Oak Park and River Forest High School and I will put into place policies to prevent schools from developing racist policies that prioritize one race of students above another. Whatever the standards are for grading, kids deserve equal treatment regardless of race."

West Cook News broke the story that Oak Park River Forest High School would institute race-based grading. The story was allegedly “debunked” amid a campaign to stop its spread on Facebook and Twitter and the school posted a denial on its website. Liberal pundits posted disinformation about the story and OPRF took to its website to declare its alleged inaccuracies. However, the matter is hardly closed and high-profile defenders have emerged on behalf of West Cook News.

“Yes, This Is Totally About Race,” a subhead on a story by The Federalist reads. As the Federalist reports, a close reading of the policies being considered by the school district indeed reveals the school intends to instate a “racial equity analysis tool.” Per its originator Seattle Public Schools, the tool is based on attempts to “close the opportunity gap for specific racial groups.”

His campaign noted that Bailey has a long history in education leadership. In southern Illinois, he and his wife Cindy established a Christian school. He also served on the North Clay Unit 25 Board of Education for 17 years. Bailey is presently a member of the Illinois State Senate's Education Committee.

In the nearing June 28 primary, Bailey is competing with tech entrepreneur Jesse Sullivan, McHenry County businessman Gary Rabine, former state senator Paul Schimpf, Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, and Max Solomon, Dupage Policy Journal reported.
