Triton College will be hosting a COVID vaccine and booster clinic Thursday, June 2, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Cafeteria (B Building). The COVID vaccines will be free for all, with boosters available to those who qualify.
Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson will all be available, as well as other regularly scheduled vaccines, such as flu, pneumonia, shingles and tetanus.
“Triton is having a vaccine/booster clinic to encourage individuals to get vaccinated and boosted in an easy and convenient manner,” said Triton College’s Director of Health Services Laura Hill, R.N.
Hill said all eligible students, faculty and staff are invited and walk-ins are welcome. Trained pharmacists from Jewel-Osco will be administering the vaccines and boosters.
“Vaccines and boosters are an important way to protect us from serious illness and dying from COVID-19,” said Hill.
According to Hill, the CDC recommends those interested in receiving the first booster should wait at least five months after their final dose of the vaccine. Those who are immunocompromised qualify to receive the first booster at least three months after their final dose of the vaccine.
As for the second booster, adults 50 or older and people who are immunocompromised could receive it at least four months after receiving the first booster.
