Analysis: Riverside Brookfield administrators rank 85th in state for average pay

Administrators in Riverside Brookfield High School District 208 earn an average of $131,861 per year, ranking 85th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 9.5 percent higher than in 2016 and 2.8 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 18.5 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Riverside Brookfield School District in Cook County enrolled 1636 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 164 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
