Chicago's Westside needs IMMEDIATE GOVERNMENT INVESTMENT of federal, state & local taxes:
•STOP all crimes + HELP residents get jobs & social services.
•STOP all crimes inside Garfield Park.
•STOP all crimes on CTA & METRA trains & buses.
•RESTORE CTA Lake St. Bus that was removed in 1997. With gas prices out of control, better public transit is urgent.
•FINALLY FIX CTA Lake St. Structure for first time in 125 years. Below is another truck smashed under Lake St. yesterday! The conditions are DANGEROUS & DISCRIMINATORY to the Westside. No other community has a "death trap" like this. East of Western Ave. in Fulton Market and Downtown, the Lake St. columns were moved to the sidewalks.)
•BUILD CTA Green Line Western Ave. Station. All CTA lines have Western stops, except the Green Line.
•FIX CTA Blue Line along Harrison St.
•FIX METRA Kedzie Ave. Station which is inaccessible to people with disabilities & without weekend service.
•BUILD METRA Cicero Ave. Station for essential access to Midway Airport.
•PUT CTA EXPRESS BUSES on Madison St. & Cicero Ave.
•BLOCK $2 billion federal funds from needless Eisenhower Expressway "makeover." The Ike got $95 million in 2010. Now, the Westside needs long-awaited, long-neglected government funds. If officials want a better environment, public transit must come first. The Ike can wait.)
