City of Northlake City Council met Jan. 10.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
ROLL CALL:

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on December 20, 2021. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on December 20, 2021; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 20, 2021 CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Mayor’s appointment of Ken Beres to the position of Police Chief; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia
NAYS: None
MOTION TO APPROVE THE MAYOR’S APPOINTMENT OF KEN BERES TO THE POSITION OF POLICE CHIEF CARRIED
Ken Beres was sworn in as the new Northlake Chief of Police.
Alderman Patti made a motion to reappoint Veronica Budzon to the Youth Commission; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO REAPPOINT VERONICA BUDZON TO THE YOUTH COMMISSION CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Johnson. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED
Mayor Sherwin reminded everyone there is only one meeting in February because of President’s Day. The meeting will be on February 14th.
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the sale of two vehicles to be sold at auction; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO REFER GRIEVANCE #21-4 AND #21-5 TO THE HEARING OFFICER CARRIED
Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-01-2022; An Ordinance Establishing an E-1 Liquor License Classification and Amending Title 3, Chapter 3 of the Northlake City Code; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.
MOTION TO APPROVE ORDINANCE O-01-2022; AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN E-1 LIQUOR LICENSE CLASSIFICATION AND AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 3 OF THE NORTHLAKE CITY CODE CARRIED
There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
