Report: Proviso School District spent $19,970 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Proviso Township High School District 209 was up 28.6 percent from five years ago, according to the West Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $15,530 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $19,970 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 4,614 to 4,244 students over the same period.

Proviso's spending in 2019-20 was 37.8 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
