Report: Berkeley School District spent $12,959 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Berkeley School District 87 was up 23.5 percent from five years ago, according to the West Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $10,489 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,959 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,783 to 2,503 students over the same period.

Berkeley's spending in 2019-20 was 10.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
