Berwyn North School District 98 Board of Education met Nov. 18.

CALL TO ORDER
Meeting began at 6:42 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance led by Board President Mounce.
COMMUNICATIONS
A. Havlicek Elementary Food Waste Student Presentation
Dr. Smith announced that the Havlicek Elementary Food Waste Student Presentation would be postponed to the December Board meeting and looks forward to the presentation.
B. Achievement Data Presentation:
Superintendent, Dr. Michelle Smith reviewed with the Board and community the preliminary MAP Growth data. Dr. Smith explained grade by grade where District 98 students rank nationwide. C. Attendance Presentation:
Ms. Smith presented to the Board and community the pre and post Covid attendance data and the attendance impact of Covid at each district school.
PUBLIC COMMENT
A. Barbara Ebersold asked the Board to consider not evaluating tenured teachers this year. She asked for leniency and consideration for the hardships felt by teachers during Covid.
BOARD COMMENT
A. Member Swade thanked the Jefferson and Havlicek admin, staff, and Lincoln student volunteers for their hard work during the STEAM centers grand opening. Mr. Swade was really impressed by both STEAM centers. Both centers turned out better than he had expected.
