Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1 President Lee called the meeting to order at 6:30p.m.

Also present: Village Administrator Espiritu, Assistant to the Village Administrator Miller, Fire Chief Grenier, Police Chief Larem, Superintendent Wagner, Village Attorney Smith and Assistant Attorney Brogan

9.1.2 Motion to Approve a Variation from the Fence Height Requirements of the Berkeley Zoning Ordinance at 5936 Chicago Avenue, Berkeley, Illinois

Administrator Espiritu clarified a request made by homeowner to have a solid six-foot fence installed on the property which is across from tollway.

9.2.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Administrator Espiritu comments ongoing efforts to close out audit, no further comments.

9.3 Police and Property Maintenance (Chair – Trustee Salemi; Co-Chair Trustee Hammar)

9.3.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Police Chief Larem informs all new code enforcer officer Paul Wagner starting Monday. Police are in final phase of new communication system to scan license and pay tickets on line also new vest will be carrying new body cameras which will be in use by next board meeting.

9.4 Fire and Health (Chair – Trustee Mathews; Co-Chair Trustee Perez)

9.4.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Trustee Mathews had meeting with Chief Grenier and he has been getting cooperation from his predecessor. Chief Grenier’s vision is to leave his department in a better state then when he started. Chief Grenier informs all of work being done on truck 352 and truck 351.

9.5 Public Works and Utilities (Chair – Trustee Hammar; Co-Chair Trustee Mathews)

9.5.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Trustee Hammar reports water main lining on school property has been completed.

9.6 Community and Intergovernmental Relations (Chair – Trustee Perez; Co Chair Trustee Graf-Stone)

9.6.1 Trustee Liaison Report

Trustee Perez informs all whining down with music in the park. Meeting with Lions club, park director from Bellwood wants to meet with Berkeley.

10 Village President

10.1 8/4/2021 Electric Nights: Tony Ocean at 7:00 p.m.

10.2 8/7/2021 Military Reenactment – Berkeley Park at 9:00 a.m.

10.3 8/12/2021 Joint Village/Park District at 6:30 p.m.

10.4 8/17/2021 Village Board Meeting at 6:30 p.m.

President Lee reiterates last music in the park. Thanks, Chief Larem regarding putting together Military reenactment. President Lee still working with baseball. Strategic meeting set for 8/19/21. Attorney Liz Brogan is attending last meeting with Berkeley, wishing Attorney Brogan the best with the state’s attorney’s office.

12 Village Attorney

Attorney Smith informs the board he will be on vacation 8/17/21. Attorney Michael Marrs will be attending in his place. Governor busy signing bills. TIF act amended needs additional information.
