Village of Schiller Park Fire & Police Commission met March 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

I. CALL TO ORDERIROLL CALL:

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rawski at 7 :30PM Upon call of the roll, the following were:

Present: Commissioner Irsuto and Chairman Rawski

Absent: None

Others Present: Secretary Botti, Director Fragakis, Chief Cesaretti and Interim Chief Wax

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: All present.

III. REVIEW AND VOTE TO ADOPT THE MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING:

Motion by Commissioner Irsuto to adopt the minutes of the last meeting and second by Chairman Rawski.

Upon call of the roll, the following voted:

Yes: Commissioner lrsuto and Chairman Rawski

Abstained: None

No: None

The Chairman declared the motion carried

IV. REVIEW CORRESPONDENCE AND BILLS:

• Invoices

• Xfinity re: Secretary's internet bill's

• Illinois State Police Division of Justice Servicer: re Background Investi gation 's

• Correspondence - Personnel

• Letter of retirement re: Sergeant Lee of the Police Department to retire on February 28, 2021

V. DISCUSS PROGRESS OF ALL PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS OF THEM PROBATIONARY PERIOD. TIDS DISCUSSION MAY BE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION:

• None

VI. DISCUSS STATUS OF OPEN POSITIONS FOR BOTH FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS:

• Police Department: has three (3) opening. On hold

• Fire Department: has two (2) opening. On hold

Vll. DISCUSS DATES FOR NEW POLICE TESTING (Original Appointment):

Police Testing Schedule

• Begin advertising on April 1, 2021 through May 6, 2021;

• Begin issuing applications on Thursday, April 1, 2021;

• Accept applications until Thursday, May 6, 2021 with a cutoff time of 4 PM;

• Orientation & written examinations will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Schiller Park Community Center: (all candidates must wear masks per the CDC rules).

o Registration will begin at 8:30 AM by C.O.P.S.

o Orientation will begin at 9:00 AM and doors will be locked 2

o Written will begin at or around lOAM

• Agility test will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the East Leyden High School Field House; (all candidates must wear masks per the CDC rules).

o Registration will begin at 8:30 AM by C.O.P.S;

o Agility test will begin at 9 AM and doors will be locked

• Oral examinations will begin the week of June 21, 2021 and estimated to be completed the week of June 28, 2021. (Note: need to hire help for oral examinations)

• Final Eligibility list to be tentatively completed and posted by July 1, 2021

VIIT. DISCUSS DATES FOR PROMOTIONAL TESTING FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT, (Sergeant and Lieutenant):

• Secretary posted all reading list's on February 4, 2021

A. Police Sergeant List

• Written examination will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021;

B. Police Lieutenant List

• Written examination will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021;

IX. DISCUSS DATES FOR PROMOTIONAL FIRE TESTING, (Lieutenant):

• Postponing due to Union contract negotiations

• Secretary to post the reading list on March 17, 2021

X. OTHER BUSINESS:

• The Commission will be swearing in Blaine E. Schneider as a Lieutenant for the Fire Department at the next Village meeting on March 18, 2021.

• The Commission will be swearing in Jeremy G. Chernikovich as a Sergeant for the Police Department at the next Village meeting on March 18, 2021.

• The Commission will be recognizing Lt. Gregory Swiontek as the Battalion Chief for the Fire Department at the next Village meeting on March 18,2021.

XI. PUBLIC COMMENT:

XII. NEXT REGULAR MEETING NOTICE:

• The next regular scheduled meeting for Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 7:30PM
