City of Northlake Finance & Rules Committee of the Whole Met April 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT:     Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Contreras

Alderman Grochowski

Alderman Johnson

Alderman Gonzalez

Alderman Patti

ABSENT:       Alderman Garcia

OTHERS PRESENT: Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

The committee reviewed the minutes of the March 15, 2021 meeting. Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 15, 2021 meeting; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The minutes were approved.

Mayor Sherwin presented the Warrants and Vouchers. Alderman Feldmann made a motion to pay the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Under New Business:

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve the Engineer’s Recommendation to award the bid for Centerpointe Bioswale to Earthwerks Land Improvements, Inc. in the amount of $35,800.00. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin opened a discussion to approve Ordinance O-10-2021; An Ordinance Establishing Additional License Fee Requirements for Liquor Licenses and Amending Section 3-1-5 of the Northlake City Code. Alderman Straube made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Mayor Sherwin stated there will be fireworks at Grant Park on June 26 with a rain date of June 27. However, due to COVID-19, there will again be no car show or carnival. The $25 water bill credit which has been given to every resident for the past year will soon begin a phasing out process.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.
